Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Amazing Grace Community Services provides Supported Independent Living (SIL) for NDIS participants who require ongoing support to live independently while maintaining choice and control over their daily lives.
We support participants with a wide range of needs, including those requiring complex mental health, forensic disability and high-intensity supports, helping them build independence while maintaining stability and connection to their community.
Whether you are looking to live in a shared home, require individual supports, are transitioning from another service, or need specialised accommodation and support, our experienced team will work alongside you to create a living arrangement that meets your needs and supports your goals.
What is Supported Independent Living?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS-funded support that assists participants with daily living tasks while living in their own home or a shared living environment.
SIL is designed for people who require significant support throughout the day, overnight or 24 hours a day. The focus is on helping participants develop skills, increase independence and live as independently as possible.
How We Can Support You
Our SIL supports may include:
- Personal care and hygiene support
- Medication assistance and management
- Meal planning and preparation
- Household cleaning and maintenance
- Budgeting and daily living skills
- Community participation and social connection
- Transport to appointments and activities
- Building independence and capacity
- Positive behaviour and psychosocial supports
- High-intensity and complex care supports
- Overnight and 24-hour support arrangements
Every support plan is tailored to the participant, their goals and the level of support required.
Participant matching
Finding the right home is important, but so is finding the right people to live with.
We carefully consider participant compatibility before placing someone in a shared home. We look at personalities, interests, support requirements, goals and lifestyle preferences to help create positive and sustainable living arrangements.
Our participant matching process helps support successful outcomes, stronger relationships and a positive home environment for everyone involved.
Supporting you every step of the way
We have extensive experience supporting participants with complex support requirements.
Our team works collaboratively with participants, families, guardians, support coordinators, allied health professionals and other stakeholders to develop tailored support models that promote stability, independence and quality of life.
We understand that every participant's journey is different and we are committed to providing flexible, responsive supports that evolve as needs change.
